[Cheonji Ilbo Yeongwol=Reporter Lee Hyun-bok] Yeongwol-gun (Mayor Choi Myung-seo) has installed nightscape lights around Yeongwol Station to brighten the night sky.
Until now, Yeongwol Station was known on SNS as a weekly photo spot set in the station, but it was dark at night, leaving regrets.
Considering the fact that night view lighting facilities have been actively installed in tourist spots and parks, the county has installed crescent-shaped night sculptures and mini-yeolju in Yeongwol Station Square since December last year.
"The optical fiber used for nightscape lighting has a semi-permanent life because it is less dazzling, eco-friendly, and easy to maintain by minimizing light pollution," a military official said. "We expect the Yeongwol Station night sculpture to be a photo spot for travelers visiting Yeongwol County."
Last year, the county installed fiber-optic stars and moon sculptures at 14 street lamps on Donggang Bridge, and 13 additional installations are underway this year and plans to complete all projects in April.
