[Seoul Economy] Lower Bridge Changes to Advanced Technology in Decembe…

Installation of 'Smart Go, Long-Term Edition' using low-power fiber optic lighting for the first time in the country
Applause Response Eyes with "Interaction Media Art"

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province, will build the lower spaces of Dongmak Bridge and Gungchon Bridge, which are frequented by citizens, as ICT (Information and Communication Technology) shelters.
According to the city on the 20th, the ICT shelter was built through the "Uijeong i Urban Detective Group Living Lab," where civic participants find urban problems in their daily lives and seek solutions with smart technology.
Under the Dongmak Bridge, a "smart go" and a long-term board with low-power fiber-optic lighting was installed for the first time in Korea. With subtle fiber-optic lighting, players can play Go and Janggi even in dark places, and the board size has been increased by 1.1 times. In addition, an air injector is installed along a river in Uijeongbu City to help cyclists avoid any first-time disasters. The injector does not float away even in flooding and does not break down.
In the lower part of the Gungchon Bridge, an "Interaction Media Art" is installed where video and sound are played in response to the sound of applause. The video is implemented in a way that more leaves and eyes are visible depending on the sound of applause. It creates a mysterious atmosphere and can entertain citizens' eyes by playing different videos depending on the season.

At the same time, the city's Ecological River Division has also prepared a seat so that the lower part of the Gungchon Bridge can be used as a venue. It is expected that citizens will enjoy culture and art more easily in their daily lives.
Previously, the city's smart city department recruited a total of 30 citizens to participate in the two areas of the Living Lab in August, the free topic and the demonstration topic, and conducted the Living Lab 12 times until this month. Through this, it has been considering ways to derive urban problems and solve problems with smart technology.
The demonstration theme Living Lab, which builds the lower part of the bridge as an ICT shelter, confirmed the demonstration (draft) optimized for each place through three civic participation living labs, interim reporting meetings, and demonstration (draft) construction meetings of related departments. Subsequently, the installation was carried out in cooperation with specialized companies, civic participation groups, and related departments.
Uijeongbu Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, "Thanks to the Living Lab Citizen Participation Group, the lower part of Gungcheon Bridge, which is dark and long, has been transformed into a lively shelter with video and music flowing," adding, "We will continue to collect various opinions from civic participants and create a good Uijeongbu by solving urban problems."
